fas/fae legal issues resource center
effective january 15, 2003, an interdisciplinary project of the
university of washington school of medicine and school of law has
been funded for one year by the robert wood johnson foundation.
the center provides assistance related to fas/fae legal issues to
individuals affected with fas/fae, their families, and advocates.
dr. ann streissguth is the co-principal investigator, professor
eric schnapper of the law school is the principal investigator,
and kay kelly is the project director.

fetal alcohol and drug unit
the fetal alcohol and drug unit is a research unit dedicated to
the prevention, intervention and treatment of fetal alcohol syndrome
(fas) and fetal alcohol effects (fae). our main goals are to conduct
research on fetal alcohol and drug effects across the life span,
to disseminate information on fetal alcohol and drug effects, to
provide consultation for persons of any age thought to be affected
by prenatal exposure to alcohol, and to provide training in human
behavioral teratology.

the adult assessment clinic at the university of washington, run
by dr. paul connor and dr. janet huggins, was closed in 2007. however,
dr. connor, who is an iceberg board member, now offeres
these services in his private practice, located in des moines, washington.

dr. connor offers adults (17 years and over) a comprehensive neuropsychological
evaluation designed to assess cognitive function, mental health
status and adaptive behavior. specializing in neuropsychological
assessments for traumatic brain injury (tbi), memory impairment,
stroke, dementia, cognitive deficits, learning disabilities, attention
deficits and fasd.
